Defending League Champions, Ashgold, yesterday suffered one of their worst defeats in the Premier League as they succumbed 1-5 to Dansoman based Liberty Professionals at the Carl Reindorf Park at Dansoman, Accra.
A brace from striker Latif Blessing and a goal each from substitute Bernard Arthur, defender Simon Zibo and winger Edward Ebo Mends completed the demolition of the visitors. Anthony Yerful scored the only goal for Ashgold.
Liberty started well and probed for an early goal which paid off in the third minute when winger Edward Ebo Mends, after a solo effort, found the back of the net.
Three minutes later, striker Latif Blessing rounded an advancing goalkeeper Robert Dabo to add to the tally and back from recess, Latif Blessing tapped the ball into the net with Simon Zibo (69th minute) and Bernard Athur (87th minute) completing the rout
The homesters added a fourth in the 69th minute when defender Simon Zibo drove a sublime shot a little away from the box to beat the Ashgold keeper.
