The true character of league leaders, Medeama Sporting Club, and champions Kumasi Asante Kotoko will be put to a severe test on Sunday when the two tough customers battle for supremacy in a sixth week Glo Premier League thriller at Tarkwa. Though a vital away win may not be enough for Kotoko to dislodge the high-flying Medeama at the top, it would surely boost the confidence of the defending champions who halted their disturbing string of draws with a 2-0 victory over Arsenal last Sunday.
But the big question is whether Coach Mas-Ud Dramani can outwit his senior colleague, Bashir Hayford, at Tarkwa of all places, following Medeama’s impressive record of two home wins and two away wins, plus another away draw against stubborn Wa All Stars.
Interestingly, both teams go into Sunday’s encounter with 2-0 margins in their last outings, but Medeama who chalked their feat away against RTU in Tamale seem to have a slight edge, especially as the hosts. All eyes will be on how Kabiru Moro and Ekow Benson seek to punish their former club as they contend with former team mate, Kwabena Edusei, while Michael Helegbe, Kofi Nti Boakye and Ben Acheampong will react for Kotoko who need a good result ahead of their titanic thriller against Hearts in Kumasi on November 18.
With the dismissal of C.K. Akonnor last Wednesday, the onus will lie on stop-gap coach, Ben Adjei, to stem the tide and avoid a fourth straight defeat by Hearts against a compact RTU side poised to make amends after a disappointing 0-2 home loss to Medeama.

Like Ben Adjei, RTU’s fortunes have been left in the hands of an inexperienced former player, Mohammed Gargo, who has managed just three draws in five games as against Hearts’ four points (one win and one draw).
Despite the threat by visiting RTU who are quite wasteful in attack, Ben Adjei seems to have a fair idea about the players who can secure the badly-needed three points for the Phobians to win back the confidence of their supporters ahead of their much-anticipated date with their bitterest rivals.
Four goals in five games will quite motivate Yakubu Mohammed to hunt for more as he leads Ashantigold into the Kpando lion’s den as guests of Heart of Lions in another fierce duel.
Embattled New Edubiase United are more than determined to free themselves from the shackles of poor form with their second win against visiting All Stars at Bekwai, while Tema Youth and Berekum Chelsea might share the points in their close contest at Tema.
At Dormaa-Ahenkro, Aduana Stars can enhance their chances of beating Amidaus Professionals by finding an antidote to in-form Yahaya Mohammed who has four goals to his credit as a midfielder.
Alhaji Gruzah’s King Faisal face a tall order against a well-drilled Dwarfs side at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, with Arsenal having a similar responsibility to prevent Liberty Professionals striker, Kennedy Ashia, from adding to his four goal tally in their clash at the Berekum Golden City Park.
