With a healthy 11-point lead in the First Capital Plus Premier League, Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s attention turns to the MTN FA Cup this Sunday when they host Division One side Istanbul FC in a Round of 16 clash at the Baba Yara Stadium.
The Porcupine Warriors’ two-pronged League and FA Cup assault seems on course, but they have suffered their fair share of upsets in the FA Cup competition in the recent past, including two surprise final losses to minnows Nania FC in 2011 and Medeama in 2013.
Istanbul are also in fine form and are on the average of making the Division One play-offs as they currently trail leaders Accra Great Olympics by two points in Zone 3A but face an arduous task if they are to oust the seven-time FA Cup champions, Kotoko.

In the early games on Saturday, Ashantigold battle Mighty Jets at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium, King Faisal face Metro Stars at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi while Hasaacas face Gold Stars at the Gyandu Park.
