David Duncan hangs onto his job after being asked to step aside

A predictable storm following the temporary axing of Coach David Duncan at Kotoko is gathering fast as it etches further cracks and factions within the ranks of the Porcupine Warriors.

Duncan was Monday asked by the Kotoko management to step aside, but the outspoken coach is clinging onto his job and demanding access to his players to prepare for Sunday’s premier league match against Liberty Professionals at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Drama unfolded Monday when Duncan who insists that there is no clause like ‘step aside’ in his contract, went to the Adako Jachie training pitch waiting for his charges to prepare them for Sunday’s game while his assistant, Michael Osei, who has taken over as the stand-in coach, was at the Baba Yara Stadium in a full training session with the boys.

Defiant Duncan, stayed at the training pitch till 10 am, apparently to indicate that he had reported for work and perhaps use it as a case against management and the board.
