Companies won’t sponsor league because of FA/Ministry impasse

Experience football administrator, Nana Fitz, has blamed the lack of sponsorship for the Premier League partly on the growing tension  between the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

He said  corporate bodies were hesitant to invest their money in the league because they did not want to be associated with a brand which was being destroyed.

The ex- chairman of former Premier League side,  Kumasi Cornerstones , who appeared frustrated over the lack of cordial working relations between the two institutions, contended in an interview with the Graphic Sports  that the absence of sponsorship was weighing heavily on the clubs and the earlier the FA and the ministry patched up, the better it would be for Ghana Football.

Nana Fitz has, therefore, urged the two feuding parties to facilitate a process that would begin talks aimed at cooling down the tension to bring back the needed confidence in corporate bodies to support the league.

The man, who had earlier brokered peace between the two parties in similar circumstances argued that because the league was running smoothly care must be taken not to take things for granted.”

“I appreciate what both sides are working in the interest of the nation but I believe that until they meet and settle the matter, Ghana will be the ultimate loser, he admitted.
