The Black Stars arrived in Yokohama in the early hours of yesterday ahead of their friendly against Japan in Yokohama tomorrow.
The team which left Accra last Friday night, hours after beating the Chipolopolo of Zambia 2-1 in that crucial World Cup qualifier held their first training session yesterday in Yokohama.
Ghana’s coach, Kwesi Appiah, has dropped the likes of Asamoah Gyan, Michael Essien, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu and Andre Ayew as well as Kevin-Prince Boateng who picked up an injury in the build-up to the Zambia game.
Ghana, who earned themselves a place in the final round of African World Cup play-offs with a win over Zambia last Friday, will play the Samurai Blue, who have already qualified for next year's finals in Brazil, tomorrow.
Seventeen players made the trip, including goalkeepers Fatau Dauda (Orlando Pirates, South Africa) and Razak Braimah (Guadalajara, Spain)
Others are Samuel Inkoom (Dnipro, Ukraine), Daniel Opare (Standard Liege, Belgium), Harrison Afful (Esperance, Tunisia), Kissi Boateng (TP Mazembe, DR Congo), John Boye (Rennes, France), Jonathan Mensah (Evian, France), Rashid Sumaila (Mamelodi Sundowns, South Africa) all defenders.
The rest are Rabiu Mohammed (Kuban Krasnodar, Russia), Yussif Raman Chibsah (Sassuolo, Italy), Albert Adomah (Middlesbrough, England), Solomon Asante (TP Mazembe, DR Congo) Christian Atsu (Vitesse Arnhem, Holland), Frank Acheampong (Anderlecht, Belgium) and Abdul Majeed Waris (Spartak Moscow, Russia), Mahatma Otoo (Sogndal, Norway).
