Football administrator, Nana Fitz, has welcomed the return of Kevin Prince Boateng, Sulley Muntari, and the Ayew brothers to the senior national team, the Black Stars but warned they should not be made automatic first choice players unless on merit.
He has therefore, challenged Coach Kwasi Appiah to critically assess them and ensure they are in better form than those currently playing before taking any decision to hand them roles in the team.
In an interview with the Grapgic Sports at the weekend Nana Fitz expressed disgust about the conduct of the three players but urged the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to take steps to avert the situation whereby players walked out of the national team only to return when they chose to stage a comeback.
‘The Ghana Football Association (GFA) must find out why some of our players do that and then let them know they cannot take the country for a ride by deciding when to play and when not to play for the country’ he added.
The owner of Great FM, an Accra-based radio station said he wouldn’t want a situation where some players would be declared untouchable and insisted their return should not be used as a bargaining chip to warrant a first team.
Meanwhile, Nana Fitz has urged all Ghanaians to accept the verdict of the Supreme Court on the election petition case saying he was confident a good judgment would be delivered to sustain the peace the nation was enjoying.
