Antwi, 18, joined Blackpool from Fulham in the summer of 2019 and was a key feature in their Under 18 side this season where he made five Under-18 Premier League appearances and put up decent performances.

The output of Antwi caught the eyes of senior team manager, Neil Critchley, who is convinced that the promising star can play a part in his main team for next season.

Graphic Sports Online can exclusively reveal that the teenager has signed his first professional contract with the club and will be in the senior team for the coming campaign.

Antwi is one of the highly-rated teenagers in the English youth league ranks and has already been compared to Chelsea legend Michael Essien because of his style of play.

Born in London, Antwi went through the Fulham Academy system before departing the club to Blackpool on a free transfer in July 2019.

The budding talent who can also operate in central midfield holds both English and Ghanaian passports but is yet to be capped by any of these countries at international level.
