Graphic Sports Online can reveal that the budding teenager has been nominated for the prestigious Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year and Goal of the Year awards.

Poku will be battling Tom Eastman, Cohen Bramall, Luke Prosser, Dean Gerken, and Theo Robinson for the Player of the Year award, whereas he competes with Cohen Bramall, Ryan Clampin and Noah Chilvers for the Young Player of the Year gong.

His extravagant solo strike in Colchester United’s 2-1 away win over Salford City at Moor Lane on February 22, 2020 has also been chosen as a Goal of the Year contender.

The club's annual season dinner to reward deserving players will not take place physically this year at the JobServe Community Stadium due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but their supporters are to vote on the club's website and other media platforms for the winners will be handed their awards privately.

Poku previously played for Cray Wanderers and Worthington FC before moving to Colchester as a free agent in the summer of 2019.

Born in London to Ghanaian parents, he is eligible to play for both England and Ghana in international level.
