He, therefore,  appealed to Ghanaians not to lose confidence in President John Dramani Mahama’s administration but rather work hard to support his administration.

“We can see light at the end of the tunnel and that things are going to change for the better very soon,”  Paa Nii Lamptey said at Winneba on Sunday.

He said the situation in the country was not as bad and hopeless as detractors were making the citizenry to believe.

Paa Nii Lamptey expressed concern about how Ghanaians used politics to disgrace the President and the nation through unfounded allegations.

He said he was bringing a new vision into politics in the Effutu Constituency which would make the NDC to regain the seat it lost to the New Patriotic Party (NPP), in the 2012 election.

He said the vision was to ensure unity and peace among members of the party and commended Mr Ebo Appiah, Proprietor of Nananom Preparatory School and the co-aspiring Effutu Constituency chairman of the NDC, for honouring his invitation.

Mr Kofi Mintah, a founder member of the NDC appealed to Ghanaians, especially the detractors of the NDC, to leave President Mahama alone to discharge his mandate.

He condemned the sustained false allegations being made by the detractors to distract the President’s attention from improving the living conditions of the people.

He expressed concern about attempts to smear the President with corruption without any substantiation, using radio stations and newspapers that were sympathetic to the detractors.

Mr Mintah urged the detractors to bear in mind that peace enhanced governance so they must allow the President to get the needed peace to govern the country.
“Those who are making the country ungovernable must know that they are damaging the country, but not the President,” he said.

Mr Mintah advised the aspirants to conduct a clean campaign and desist from personal attacks and character assassination.
