Savelugu youth smoke peace pipe with MCE Hajia Ayishetu
The youth wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Savelugu has brokered peace with the confirmed Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the area, Hajia Ayishetu Seidu.

This follows a meeting between the group and a delegation from the presidency, national, regional and constituency executives of the party on Tuesday.
The delegation included Mr Bryan Acheampong, the Minister of State at the Presidency in charge of National Security, the Deputy Northern Regional Minister and Member of Parliament (MP) for Bunkpurugu, Mr Solomon Boar and the MP for Savelugu, Mr Muhamed Abdul-Samed Gunu.
The youth had earlier kicked against the appointment of Hajia Ayishetu and held a series of demonstrations, including physically barricading the municipal office and preventing staff from working.
However, at the meeting held on Tuesday, the youth agreed to allow Hajia Ayishetu to work.

Sources close to the party in Savelugu who confirmed the outcome of the meeting to Graphic Online hinted at a press conference Wednesday afternoon to announce the outcome of the meeting.
The meeting, according to the sources, was also coming at the heels of a directive by President Akufo-Addo on Monday for the security agencies to deal with those involved in the disturbances in Savelugu over the MCE's appointment.
So far no arrests have been made.
