Prez Akufo-Addo returns home from Weah’s investiture

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has returned to Ghana after participating in the investiture of Liberian President George Oppong Weah in Monrovia.

At exactly mid-day, the Presidential jet touched down, with the President's entourage disembarking. He followed closely at about 12:10pm.

He was met on arrival by the Speaker of Parliament, Prof. Mike Aaron Ocquaye, who had been acting as President following the absence of Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia who is currently on medical leave in the United Kingdom.

The President left the country at about 2:30pm last Sunday for Monrovia at the same time when Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo was administering the Oath of Office to the Speaker in Parliament.

Parliament was summoned for an emergency meeting by the First Deputy Speaker, Mr Joseph Osei-Wusu for the purpose of the swearing in ceremony.
