PNC appeases soul of Liman

Little wonder the people of the town and the supporters who thronged the park for the event gave the PNC entourage led by the flag bearer, Hassan Ayariga, a warm reception. The reception indeed was warm with people lining the road to the town to receive their guests.

The convoy of the flag bearer was escorted by scores of motorbike riders who tooted their horns as they led the convoy.

The confidence and dexterity with which they rode the bikes were a sight to behold.

The people of the town shouted the party’s popular slogan of the party, “Two Sure, Two Direct”, as the convoy drove to the town.

Shortly after arrival, the first port of call by the flag bearer and his team was the house of the mother of Dr Liman.

From there, the team moved to the Gwollu chief’s palace to pay a courtesy call on the chief, G.B. Butia, who adorned Mr Ayariga with a white traditional gown as a sign of honour in championing the course
of Dr Liman.

The flag bearer, after that, went to the tomb of the late President near the palace to pay homage to the founder of the PNC.

Still followed by the crowd of supporters, the stage was now set for the launch of the manifesto. The people of the town expressed their appreciation to the leadership of the party for taking the decision to
launch the manifesto at Gwollu.

They believe that ‘coming home’ to invoke the spirit of Dr Limaan was a good omen as far as the December 7, 2012 elections were concerned.

Present at the event included the Vice Chairman, David Niibi; Campaign Women Organiser, Elizabeth Amedakanya and a member of the Council of Elders and National Executive Committee of the party.

The 42-page manifesto with the title: “Service with Honesty”, represents the national vision and development agenda of the PNC for the people of Ghana if voted into power.

The main themes of the document are: redirection, rehabilitation, youth empowerment and economic development.

Speaking at the event, the flag bearer of the PNC for the 2012 elections, Mr Hassan Ayariga, said “the root of the PNC shall never die and shall never dry up”.

He, therefore, charged the people to stand firm behind the party for victory in the forthcoming elections, adding that the December elections had provided an opportunity for the party to implement its vision and programmes for the country.
