According to him, he had observed that most households in the community shared one meter, while a lot more did not have any meter at all.

He said he had therefore directed that 1,500 meters be distributed to every household within the community.

Addressing the people of Abura on the second day of his tour of the Central Region, President Mahama said, “I am aware of the challenge of electricity connection in Abura. A lot of you don’t have meters. Most houses share one meter. So I have directed that 1500 meters be distributed so that every household will have a meter.”

He said among other things that roads within the community had been given on contract to be rehabilitated.

“Your elders have made me aware that your taxi rank is in bad shape. We have given the roads on contract and the contractor will soon begin work to fix the roads.”

President Mahama also asked the people of Abura to vote for him on December 7, 2016, to enable him serve his second term in office.

“It is God who enthrones. All power belongs to God… I am optimistic that by the grace of God, that NDC 2016, 7th December, NDC will emerge victorious,” he said.
