Mfantseman Primaries: Ekow Quansah Hayford picks NPP forms

The incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Mfantseman, Mr Ekow Quansah Hayford has picked nominations forms to contest the primaries and has called on the members of the party to work hard to keep the party in one piece after the primaries.

Mr Quansah Hayford said while most political contests brought about some form of acrimony, it was important to keep in mind that it was an internal contest and that the main elections were in December.

“This is an internal contest and we must keep that in mind as we contest as aspirants and keep the party united,” he said.

He urged the electorate to be guided by the works he had done in the constituency and vote for him as parliamentary candidate to help recapture the seat for the NPP.

He said he had together with the Mfantseman Municipal Assembly worked on the construction of the Mankessim-Tetsi road, begun work on the Mankessim market project and assisted several other projects in the communities.

He said it was upon the basis of his works that he come to appeal for a second opportunity to serve his constituents.

The Mfantseman Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Kenneth Kelly Essuma who picked the forms on behalf of the MP and later presented it to him.

In a statement, Mr Essuman said considering the good works of Mr Quansah Hayford and his dedication to the development of the constituency, it was only right that he was given a second opportunity to serve his people.

The Chairman of the Constituency Election Committee Mr Dede Bamfo commended the MP for the courage to contest and said he was hopeful for a win for the NPP in the constituency and in the presidential elections and all party loyalists to work harder. The Mfantseman constituency of the NPP, Alhaji Gibrine Adams said the unity between the MP and MCE was commendable and prayed that they would sustain the unity to move the constituency’s development agenda forward.
