Let's go prepare for power in 2016 - Paul Afoko

Newly elected national chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Paul Afoko, has charged party followers to work in unison towards annexing power in 2016.

In a brief acceptance speech following his election which saw him topple incumbent chairman Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey, Paul Afoko, on behalf of his new colleague executives, expressed gratitude to delegates for reposing confidence in him and his colleagues and promised to seek first the welfare of the party.

He said he was confident of the party returning to power in 2016, and rallied all party followers to work towards achieving that goal.

The new executives are as follows: Chairman - Paul Afoko; General Secretary - Kwabena Agyapong; Youth Organiser - Sammy Awuku; Women's Organiser - Otiko Djaba; National Organiser - John Boadu; Vice Chairman - Freddie Blay; First Vice Chairman - Sammy Crabbe; Second Vice Chairman - F.F. Antoh; Treasurer – Kwabena Abankwa Yeboah; National Nasara Coordinator - Kamal Deen Abdulai.

A number of them who endured the marathon congress, were sworn into office by Mr. Ayikoi Otoo.

Speaking on behalf of the losing candidate, Mr. Stephen Ntim, a chairmanship contestant, congratulated delegates for speaking and urged all to support the new team to build a winnable NPP. He also called for party unity.
