Kunbuor lays reports on sectors of economy

The Minister in Charge of Government Business in Parliament, , has laid a number of reports on various sectors of the economy before Parliament.

They included  the reports of the  Auditor General on the Public Accounts of Ghana, accounts of district assemblies, and pre-university educational institutions for the year ending December 31, 2011 and another  report on the Statement of Foreign Exchange Receipts and payments of the Bank of Ghana for the half year ended June 2012.

The other one was the report on Public Accounts of Ghana (Public Boards, Corporations and other statutory institutions) for the year ended  December,  31, 2011 and the  report on the management and utilisation of the District Assemblies Common Fund for December  31 2011.

The reports were referred to the Public Accounts Committee by the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mr Ebo Barton-Odro, for consideration and report.

Speaking to the Daily Graphic, the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee and MP for Dormaa Central, Mr Kwaku Agyeman-Manu, said the committee would meet the Auditor-General for a presentation to the members.

He said at the meeting members would seek clarifications to better understand the contents in the reports.

He said it was only after that the committee would invite the Auditor-General during its sittings for questioning.

Mr Agyeman-Manu said there were a number of reports that were presented to the previous Parliament that had to be relaid since the current Parliament was not bound by the decisions of that Parliament.
