A Deputy National Coordinator for the National Apprenticeship Programme (operations), Fahad Agbenyadzi, has urged members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) holding political appointments to respond to telephone calls from branch executives of the party.
According to him, branch executives, who worked tirelessly to help the NDC secure victory in Election 2024, deserved the attention and support of government appointees.
Mr Agbenyadzi said he had received complaints from several branch executives about the failure of some political appointees to respond to their calls when they needed assistance on important issues.
The National Apprenticeship Programme, where Mr Agbenyadzi serves as deputy chief executive is a major government initiative to address youth unemployment, close the skills gap, and promote economic growth across Ghana.

Forum
Mr Agbenyadzi made his call at forum organised by the Akyem Swedru Constituency Youth Organiser of the NDC and Dean of Eastern Regional Youth Organisers, Oscar Kennedy Nyarko, to equip members with skills for effective campaigning ahead of the 2028 election.
Close ranks
Mr Agbenyadzi, who has declared his intention to contest the position of National Deputy Youth Organiser of the NDC, also urged the youth wing of the party to close its ranks and work tirelessly towards retaining the party in power in the 2028 general election.
He advised party members without political appointments not to become disillusioned, but to continue working for the success of the NDC.
He said their efforts would be rewarded if the party remained in power for a long period.
Mr Agbenyadzi further promised that if elected National Deputy Youth Organiser, he would ensure that members of the youth wing and branch executives were adequately supported and motivated to give of their best to the party.
Fair contest
He described the party’s decision to require members holding political appointments to resign before contesting constituency, regional and national executive positions as a step in the right direction.
According to him, the decision would promote fairness and create a level playing field for all aspirants.
Dakudzi’s pledge
An aspiring Eastern Regional Chairman of the NDC, David Dakudzi, pledged to ensure that every party member got a fair share of the national resources when the NDC remained in power.
He urged members to intensify their campaign for victory in the 2028 general election.
Mr Dakudzi also promised to speak the truth without insulting his political opponents and urged other aspirants to emulate him.
He pledged financial support for the youth wings and branch executives to enable them to conduct effective campaigns and donated $50 to the constituency youth wing.
Other speakers included an aspiring constituency chairman, Alex Bonkwah, and an aspiring constituency treasurer, Ishmael Arthur.
