Mr Odzidzator, a procurement professional, polled 37 votes out of the 39 ballots cast, representing 95 per cent of the votes at a meeting  held at Kpandai to confirm him as the new DCE for the area.

Mr Odzidzator, who holds a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA), replaces Mr Jasper Jato Moai, who was sacked by the President last year.

The Northern Regional Minister, Alhaji  Mohammed  Muniru Limanu, who was present at the ceremony, swore  the newly elected DCE into office.

In a brief remark, Alhaji Limuna expressed gratitude to the  members of the assembly for endorsing the President’s nominee and called for unity to move the assembly forward.

Living standards

He pledged the support of the central government to the development of the area to enhance the living standard of the people.

Alhaji Limuna urged staff of the assembly to work hard to move the development of the area forward and eschew laziness and absenteeism which has been the bane of most assemblies in the region.

He called on assembly members and staff not to allow their political and ethnic considerations to stifle the progress of the assembly.

The new DCE thanked members of the assembly for the endorsement and the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work hard to fast-track the development of the area.

Mr Odzidzator said he was open to all shades of opinion and advice to move the district forward.

He pledged to make education, health, agriculture, sanitation and water his priority areas to contain  the main challenges  in the area.
