Ketu South NDC selects 2016 candidate

Members of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ketu South constituency of the Volta region on Tuesday went to the polls to select a new candidate for the 2016 Parliamentary Elections. Voting started smoothly without any major hitch.

The incumbent Member of Parliament for the area and Minister of Food and Agriculture (MOFA), Mr Fifi Franklin Fiavi Kwetey is being challenged by Mr Sylvanus Amedorme and Mr Famous Kuadugah.

Some polling stations visited by Graphic Online at Agbozume and Aflao had recorded less than 50 per cent turn out as of 12 noon.

At the EP JHS Afegame Agbozume centre 67 persons had voted as against 724 in the register and at RC School at Viepe Aflao 50 persons had voted as of 10.55 am as against 242 in the register.

At TB Sakani A&B, Alorgui A&B , 120 voters out of 669 had cast their ballot and at Avoeme Yorkoe polling station 99 had voted out of 510.

Voting was generally peaceful in all the 70 polling stations of the constituency.

The NDC selected their 2016 Parliamentary candidates in November but that of Ketu South delayed as a result of a court case.
