Ghanaians urged not to allow politics to divide them
The theme for the celebration was “Partnership and Innovation for Building a new and better Ghana.”
Twenty-four basic schools and Senior High Schools from the private and public sectors took part in the parade.
Mr Oppong urged Ghanaians to eschew politics of insults and acrimony since they do not promote true democracy. He further added that without unity, it would be difficult for the nation to thrive in its efforts to achieve socio-economic transformation.
The MCE expressed concern about the bad habits of the people in relation to the indiscriminate waste disposal in the municipality.
He expressed regret that the municipality had been engulfed in filth and announced that the assembly would organise a clean-up exercise every month. - GNA
