Ghana must win after 2018 new regions referendum - NCCE

The National Commission for Civic Education, NCCE, has urged all eligible voters within participating districts in the 2018 referendum on the creation of six new regions to go out in their numbers to vote on Thursday.

In a statement signed and issued by Ms Josephine Nkrumah, Chairperson on Wednesday December, 26, the NCCE called on security personnel deployed to voting centres to make it their duty to protect voters, electoral officers, election observers and every person involved in this exercise to ensure an incident free exercise.

As the 2018 referendum on the creation of six new regions comes off on Thursday, 27th December, the National Commission for Civic Education, NCCE, urges all eligible voters within participating districts to go out in their numbers to vote.

Voting in a referendum is a civic duty and it behoves all the patriotic citizens in these districts to join the queues at voting centres to exercise their franchise.

The NCCE's district offices where the referendum will take place have been engaging citizens there on the relevance of the referendum and processes involved in the entire exercise.

We also note the vibrant role citizens in relevant districts as they have campaigned towards the elections and commend them for their activities.

The Commission calls on all eligible voters to cast their votes peacefully during the day and have confidence in the success of the entire process.

We also call on security personnel deployed to voting centres to make it their duty to protect voters, electoral officers, election observers and every person involved in this exercise to ensure an incident free exercise.

We are one people and Ghana must win at the end of the referendum.

Josephine Nkrumah
