The two six-classroom blocks, valued at GH¢900,000, are for the Oda Salvation Army and Aboabo Salvation Army Basic Schools, while the two-unit kindergarten classroom block and water closet toilet facility (also valued at GH¢451,000) are for the Aboabo Basic School and female halls of residence at the Oda Senior High School (ODASCO), respectively.

The sod-cutting ceremony was attended by many dignitaries including the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Birim Central, Mr Kwabena Bempong; the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr Douglas Annoful; the Krontihene of Akyem Kotoku Traditional Area, Obrempong Gyamfi Saforo Kyereh; the Akyem Oda Traditional Commander of the Salvation Army Church, Major Rockson Oduro-Tetteh, as well as officers from the municipal education directorate and some executive members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Oda Constituency.

GETFund

Mr Quaittoo said the school blocks were being financed by the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) while he was funding the toilet facility with his share of the MPs Common Fund.

He urged the four contractors working on the projects to do quality work and also strive to complete them within the scheduled period of six months.

The MCE, Mr Bempong, commended the MP for the many projects he had initiated in the municipality.

He advised the beneficiary communities and institutions to give the contractors working on the projects the needed support and cooperation to facilitate their early completion.

The Krontihene of Akyem Oda, Obrempong Kyereh, commended President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the NPP for working to improve conditions in the Akyem Kotoku area, stressing that the many development initiatives proved that the President was fulfilling his promise to the people.

He urged the contractors working on the projects to recruit their workers from the area as means of providing employment for the youth in the area.
