Bugri Naabu tows accident vehicle to NPP delegates conference grounds

The incumbent Northern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Abdul-Fataw Bugri Naabu has towed his accident vehicle to the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, the venue for the regional delegates’ congress.

Mr. Naabu who is seeking re-election was involved in an accident on Thursday, April 26, 2018 on the Damongo-Bole highway when he was returning to Tamale after a campaign in the Bole and Sawla constituencies.

The accident vehicle was surprisingly towed to the voting grounds at the stadium Saturday morning.

The motive behind that was not clear, but sources close to Mr. Naabu indicated that, the move was to help rebut widespread rumour that his accident was feigned to amass sympathy votes because of the fierce contest with Alhaji Mohammed A. Baantima Samba.

Mr. Naabu and his campaign team were reportedly moving in a convoy and upon reaching Laribanga, the vehicle suddenly veered off the road and somersaulted several times.

He has since been discharged from the hospital and visited the voting ground Saturday morning lobbying delegates for votes.
