Be moderate in jubilation - Nana Addo to NPP supporters

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has urged supporters of the New Patriotic Party to be "moderate and sensitive" in jubilation.

In a Facebook post, the President wrote: "When you win an election, you don't need to be aggressive. Be of good character and wait for the Electoral Commission to declare. And when you jubilate, be moderate and sensitive to public order and safety."

The President's post comes in the wake of EC certified results projecting a 657,302 difference in presidential votes between him and the National Democratic Congress' John Mahama.

The EC has so far certified results from 14 regions.

Based on the figures, the NPP is leading the presidential election results with 5,067,445 votes against the NDC's 4,410,143.

Meanwhile, supporters of the NDC have massed up at the headquarters of the EC to protest what they claim to be the stolen verdict of the people.

They claim the Presidential of the NDC, Former President John Dramani Mahama won the election.

They have vowed not to leave the EC’s headquarters until the EC’s chairperson declares Mahama as the winner of the Presidential polls.
