Base Ghana Movement embarks on walk in Kumasi today

The Base Ghana Movement, a political group, will today hold a walk through some principal streets of Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional capital.

The walk will commence from Abrepo Junction through selected principal streets of Kumasi from State Boys School and end at Konadu Yiadom Park, where a durbar will take place.

As part of the event, the group will officially inaugurate its Ashanti Regional branch and regional headquarters.

According to the organisers, the inauguration marks a major step in the Movement's efforts to deepen its grassroots presence in the Ashanti Region, foster unity, and advance its development agenda within the region and beyond.

Addressing the media ahead of the event, the Chief Operations Coordinator, Jacob Osei Yeboah, said the Base Ghana Movement is legally registered and headquartered at Tesano in Accra.

He said the movement had been "fully restructured and unshakably united" and indicated that they were aware of desperate attempts by political opponents to inject divisions into their ranks.

"Today, we declare those distractions unworkable. In May 2026, all legal disputes were unconditionally withdrawn and settled with those who were deceived into the Base Ghana First," he said.

Internal struggles

Mr Yeboah said that to eliminate internal struggles within the movement, they have completely dissolved all previously individual positions in the Base Ghana Movement.

He said: "The financiers, led by our founder, Dr George Oti Bonsu, and other key actors, are now moving forward as a single indivisible force."

He added that the Base Ghana Movement has highly knowledgeable and well-disciplined members to govern the nation from 2029 after being registered as a political party and winning the 2028 general elections.

"We are a serious organisation with practical solutions to the myriad of problems facing Ghana, especially the flooding issues. We are ready to contribute our quota towards the country's development agenda," he said.

Further, he offered the movement's condolences to all those who lost their relations and properties worth millions of Ghana cedis during the recent floods in Accra.
