World AIDS Day to be launched on Tuesday

The Ghana Aids Commission will launch The World AIDS Day on Tuesday November 3, 2015.

This year’s event will be launched by Her Excellency Dr Nana Lordina Dramani Mahama,at the Teshie Salem Park, to commence a month long period of activities leading to the main day on the 1st of December, 2015.

The theme for the month long celebration will be “Fast Track: Meeting the Health Needs of Children Towards an HIV-Free Generation”

His Excellency John Dramani Mahama and chair of the Ghana AIDS Commission will commemorate the national durbar at the Jubilee Park in Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo Region.

The national durbar will be preceded by Islamic prayers and a press soiree on Friday, November 27, 2015, a Health Walk on Saturday November 28, 2015 and a non-denominational church service on Sunday, 30th November, 2015.

World AIDS Day is a day set aside by UNAIDS to give the world the opportunity to reflect on the impact of HIV and AIDS on people and nations while joining hands in response to the epidemic.
