The management of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) in the Volta Region last Friday joined the Dambai District Office in the Oti Region for a clean-up to promote environmental cleanliness.
The team also paid a courtesy call on the Oti Regional Minister, John Kwadwo Gyapong, where discussions centred on electricity supply, commercial operations, energy conservation and development priorities for the Region.
The Regional General Manager, Christina Jatoe-Kaleo, encouraged stronger sanitation enforcement to help keep communities clean and shared practical energy-saving measures to reduce electricity costs.
The regional minister commended the ECG Management for the initiative and praised the Dambai District team, led by Madam Irene Mary Odame, for their dedication and service. He also appealed for the ECG’s support in extending electricity to the Oti Regional Coordinating Council’s new office complex.

The government declared Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11, 2026, as national general cleaning days in the seven regions affected by the recent floods to help reduce the risk of further flooding ahead of the expected heavy rains.
The directive forms part of measures adopted by the Post-Flood Mitigation Committee to improve environmental sanitation and clear drains and other waterways.
The two-day exercise, on the theme, "Our Actions, Our Future: Cleaning Ghana after the Floods," was intended to mobilise residents to clean their communities and help prevent flooding.
