Suspected murderer of UK actress arrested in Ghana

The prime suspect in the murder of a former EastEnders actress Sian Blake and her two sons has been arrested in Ghana.

Arthur Simpson-Kent was arrested at a beach in Busia near Takoradi in the Western regionat, an official statement signed by Communications Minister Dr Edward Omane Boamah said.

The 48-year old Arthur is suspected of murdering his girlfriend and entered Ghana via the Kotoka International Airport on December 19, just days after the British authorities questioned him over the crime.

Ghana’s security and intelligence agencies had no prior notification from their British counterparts on his arrival in Ghana, but managed to track his movements and arrested him on Saturday when the matter was brought to their attention, the statement said.

The UK authorities have accordingly been informed of the arrest and are liaising with agencies.

The bodies of Sian Blake, 43, Zachary, eight, and Amon, four, were discovered in the garden of their London home on Tuesday.
