Organisers of the Sacred Crown Awards 2026 have announced ongoing nominee verification and category adjustments as part of efforts to ensure fairness, accuracy and the overall integrity of the awards.
In a statement signed by the Lead for Communications and Public Affairs, Enoch Owusu Kissi, the organisers said further nominee verification and stakeholder engagement had been undertaken following the official announcement of nominees for the 2026 edition.
"As part of this process, adjustments have been made to selected award categories to ensure appropriate categorisation and proper recognition of the standing, experience, and contributions of nominees," the statement said.
The updated nominee lists and official flyers are expected to be published through the official communication platforms of the Sacred Crown Awards. The adjustments, the organisers said, are intended to further strengthen the fairness, credibility and integrity of the nomination structure.
The previously announced one-week correction and omission period remains open for genuine administrative corrections, including errors relating to names, titles, organisations, designations, categories and other publication errors. However, the organisers clarified that the correction and omission period does not constitute a reopening of nominations.
"All genuine submissions received within the stipulated period will be reviewed before any official amendments are made," the statement added.
The Sacred Crown Awards, an initiative of His Royal Majesty King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, the Ga Mantse and President of the Ga Traditional Council, was established to celebrate and preserve African heritage, spirituality and wellness while recognising individuals and institutions making exceptional contributions to society.
The inaugural edition of the awards, scheduled for October 31, 2026, features an extensive list of nominees spanning entertainment, traditional authority, faith, healthcare, philanthropy and culture.
Organisers said they remained committed to recognising excellence and meaningful contributions across the awards' three core pillars and appreciated the cooperation and understanding of all nominees, stakeholders, media partners and the general public as they continued to uphold the integrity, professionalism and credibility of the Sacred Crown Awards 2026.
