Rev. Adjei brought some items, including bags of rice, biscuits, soft drinks, water, NASCO blender, soap, and toiletries to support the administration of the orphanage. The children were also served with prepared lunch.

Madam Frederica led the children and members of Rev. Adjei’s team to sing some popular Presbyterian hymns as well as a birthday song after which some of the ministers in the team took turns to share the word of God with the children.

Potter’s Village

The Potters Village orphanage is a charitable organisation established by Dr. Mrs Jane Irina Adu to provide care and support to women and children who suffer domestic violence and abuse.

The orphanage, which currently has 120 children has a vision of creating and ensuring peace and security for national socio-economic development in Ghana and beyond.

Among its objectives are to prevent family breakdown and social disintegration through family life education and counseling support; provide shelter, food, clothing and other material needs for the vulnerable in society; as well as to help needy children to acquire basic and secondary education and ensure their continued professional development.

Trust God

In short message, Rev. Adjei advised the children to trust in the Lord since He is the only one who can help them to realise their dreams in life.

He also encouraged the children not to devalue themselves on the note that they are in an orphanage home, saying "It does not matter where you sleep but where the Lord is taking you to."

Rev. Adjei again implored the children to be obedient to their caretakers and to do good to their colleagues at the orphanage.

The Acting Chaplain and a national service person, Mr Dzepe Peter, said the center receives children from both the Department of Social Welfare and the Ghana Police Service.

He said all the children are taken care of by the Village through voluntary donations, hence appealing to individuals and corporate bodies to come to their aid.

He said there are many building projects ongoing at the village, which are all aimed at giving the children a decent place to live.

In receiving the items, Madam Jacqueline Emefa, a Social worker at the village, commended Rev. Adjei for choosing to celebrate his birthday with the inmates at the village.
