The members who numbered up to about 8,000 alleged that they have not been paid their allowance since they started working in April 2019.

The affected nurses who gathered at the Center for Natural Culture in Kumasi on Monday October 21, also accused the government of varying their allowance resulting in reduction in the actual amount they are to be paid.

In an interview with an Accra based Starr FM, the Convener of the rotational nurses, Fabian Zutar said they have written to the government and have also had press conferences on various occasions concerning the issue but have not received any positive feedback.

He explained that the situation has made it difficult for the service personnel to cater for their various social needs such; paying bills and feeding.

Mr Zutar also added that if government fails to address their needs after the protest, they will have no other option than to embark on series of demonstration until their needs are met.

Meanwhile, , a number of Trainees from Nation Builders Corps (NABco)have also massed up at the NABco secretariat in the Greater Accra region to demand payment of their 5 months allowances.

A Starr FM reporter said the secretariat have deploy security personnel to denied them entry into the premises but have required their names to be written so they would be attended to, however the Trainees say it is a national issue so should be solved nation-wide.
