DERA Foundation, the official organisers of the South Africa Trade Exhibition (SAITEX), is registering Ghanaian businesses and industrialists for this year’s exhibition in South Africa.
The exhibition, which starts from June 22 to 24, 2014 at the Gallagher Convention Centre, Midrand, Johannesburg is expected to attract over 1,000 exhibitors and 16,000 trade-focused visitors from more than 40 countries worldwide.
The Chief Executive of Dera Foundation, Mr Francis Baagan, who said this to journalists, said his outfit had started registering interested exhibitors and investors in Ghana to participate in the exhibition.
He said there would be special sessions such as Business to Business (B2B) Matching during which companies and entrepreneurs who want business partners could meet to discuss, as well as those looking for distributors and retailers.
Mr Baagan said SAITEX had been the doorway to countless African business opportunities for the past two decades, adding, “In fact, SAITEX celebrates its 21st birthday this year, a fitting occasion to unlock even more business potentials on the continent in years to come.”
Opportunities
The CEO said the exhibition was an opportunity for not only established enterprises, but ambitious entrepreneurs, as well as budding business owners looking for the most effective business networking platform or enterprise launch pad into Africa and the world “to find all this – and more – at SAITEX.”
He said the show, which will be co-located with the Africa’s Big Seven (AB7) food and beverage expo, would provide hundreds of business ideas and service opportunities.
“Industry stalwarts and key market players will participate in this multi-sectoral show and will discuss the current market of the retail industry,” Mr Baagan announced.
Exhibits
Some of the products and services to be exhibited include; food beverage products, machinery for manufacturing and packaging, fast-moving consumer goods, electrical and electronic appliances, building and construction products.
Others will be retail ready products, hardware and tools, textiles and apparel, furniture indoor and outdoor, office equipment and stationery, fabrics, leather products and plastic products.
Quoting the show organiser of SAITEX, John Thomson of Exhibition Management Services, Mr Baagan said “SAITEX holds countless keys to countless doors”.
He said the show’s monumental success was built on delivering unlimited opportunities for new, existing, and future enterprises to grow business, diversify clientele and explore new markets across Africa and even around the world.
