The materials have been sent to various regions and districts.

They include registration forms, posters, flyers, brochures and pens.  Graphic Online has seen some of the items.

The new EC logo has generated controversy in public discourse with some accusing the EC of plagiarizing a similar logo that belongs to an educational institution in Turkey – Yedi Sistem.

Even though the Commission was yet to officially outdoor and explain the rationale for the new logo, some people have said it was an attempt to re-brand the commission.

The attention of journalists was first drawn to the new logo at an EC organised media workshop in Accra last week Tuesday.

The Deputy Chairperson in charge of Finance and Administration, Mrs Georgina Opoku Amankwaa said the logo has been vetted and approved and would soon be unveiled to the general public.

However, the Deputy Chairman of the commission in charge of operation, Mr Amadu Sulley was quoted as saying at a training workshop that the new logo was yet to be approved and that it was just an expression of “intent."

The new logo has a dark-blue background with round coloured circles in shades of green, yellow, white, and red .

Some public commentaries have said the new logo lacked a clear concept and that it was too abstract to be understood by ordinary Ghanaians.

When the issue of the new logo was raised at an Inter Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting last week, the EC Chairperson, Mrs Charlotte Osei was said to have deferred a response on the matter.

Below are photos of some of the educational materials that have the new logo embossed on them.
