The new council and court are the second to be consecrated in the Accra West Region within the past one-and-half years after a similar council and court was consecrated at Pokuase in February last year.

Brother Philip Jude Mensah was installed as the first Grand Knight of Council 109 while Sister Cynthia Lassey Ibrahim was installed as the first Noble Lady of Court 105, both of New Aplaku.

The Supreme Secretary, Sir Knight Ben Ocran, read the charter for the consecration of the new council after which the Supreme Knight, Sir Knight Victor Derx Baffour handed over the charter to Bro. Mensah to signal the official consecration of Council 109, New Aplaku.

This was after the Accra West Regional Grand Knight; Worthy Bro. Yaw Osei-Poku, had installed officers of the new council. The Deputy Grand Lady, Respected Lady, Sister Cecilia Yirenkyi performed the installation ceremony of the new officers for Court 105.

The ceremony attracted officials of the Supreme Council and representatives of the Marshallan fraternity from across the globe.

For the court, the Grand Lady, Most Respected Lady, Sister Janet Mmieh presented the charter to Sister Ibrahim.

The Grand Knight, Bro. Philip Jude Mensah, described the event as a special day for members of the council and court.

According to him, the journey had been long and tedious and expressed his appreciation to all those who worked tirelessly for the consecration.

At a thanksgiving service after the consecration, the Very Rev. Fr. John Straathof, who is incharge of the Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, New Aplaku, welcomed members of the new council and court to the parish.

He urged them to help build the Kingdom of God in the community by living exemplary lives and helping the needy in the society.
