The Mankranso District Police Command has arrested four persons suspected of engaging in drug peddling. Thy were arrested at Kunsu in the Ashanti Region.
The operation, carried out in the early hours of Friday, June 26, 2026, formed part of a police ongoing effort to clamp down on drug trafficking and other criminal activities in the district.
A press statement issued by the Ashanti Regional Police on Monday (June 29, 2026) named the suspects as Issaka Musah, 22, Amankwah Emmanuel, 25, Kwame Boateng, 32, and Appiah Prince, 23.
The police said a locally manufactured pistol loaded with two BB rounds of ammunition, quantities of suspected Tramadol, red capsules, dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, and a whitish substance wrapped in paper, suspected to be cocaine were retrieved.
The police also retrieved GH¢5,647.40, believed to be proceeds from the suspected drug trade.
According to the police statement, preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects allegedly admitted ownership of the items recovered during the operation.
The suspects are in police custody assisting with investigations and will be put before the court after investigations are completed.
The statement said the Ghana Police Service would continue its efforts to deal with drug-related offences and organised crime. It appealed to the public to provide timely and credible information to support the police in identifying and arresting persons involved in criminal activities.
