‘Make judicious use of resources for effective health care’

The deputy Eastern Regional director of Ghana Health Service, Mr Micah Asare Bediako, has advised health institutions in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality to make judicious use of resources  for effective health delivery.

 He also asked them to ensure constant monitoring of district health facilities in the area to ensure professionalism in healthcare delivery to the people.

 

Meeting

Mr Bediako gave the advice at the 2015 Lower Manya Krobo Ghana Service Annual Performance review meeting held at the Ensign College of Public Health at Kpong.

The deputy director lauded the Akuse Government Hospital for promoting quality health care in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality and other catchment areas.

Mr Bediako said although both the Atua government hospital and the Agomanya St Martins de Porres Hospital equally did well in healthcare delivery, the Akuse Government Hospital came out tops in the year under review.

‘’I want to congratulate all health workers in the Lower Manya Krobo  municipality, especially the Akuse government hospital, under the leadership of Dr Ahmed Tijani, the Medical Superintendent, on their hard work and dedication to duty over the years and, particularly, for 2015,’’ he  added.

Interventions

Mr Bediako, however, urged the health facilities to continue to employ all possible interventions and initiatives towards reducing child mortality, improving maternal health and combating HIV and AIDS and malaria in the municipality.

In a citation, presented to the Akuse Hospital, the facility was described as the best in child mortality, maternal health, HIV and AIDS, malaria and other diseases.

The Regional Health Directorate also lauded the efforts of the  Dr Tijani for his dedication and commitment to duty, saying ‘’ you are really a born medical practitioner of a difference.’’

The Ghana Education Sercice{GES}School Health Education Programme{SHEP] coordinator, Mr Godfried Ofoe Caesar and Manye Makutsu, a divisional queen mother, were both honoured for their dedicated services to the Ghana Health Service in the region.
