Lack of God-fearing leaders cause of Ghana’s challenges - Full Gospel

The Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International (FGBMFI) has attributed the numerous challenges confronting the country to the lack of leaders who fear God.

They have therefore charged Christians to pray for leaders who would seek the wellbeing of the citizenry and also have the fear of God at heart.

“Our fellowship believes that Ghana is on its knees economically and is sinking morally not because we lack the natural, human and other resources for development but because we elect men and women who have no fear of God.

“The time has come to hold forth the moral majority that will vote for righteousness and for party,” it said.

FGBMFI made the call in a solidarity message when the Methodist Church of Ghana held its 2016 diocesan Synods.

Speaking on behalf of the group, the Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church of Ghana called on Christian leaders to use the pulpits, crusade platforms and other church activities to educate members to vote for leaders of integrity.

They further blamed Christians for not doing much to rescue the state from its socio-economic crises. That, FGBMFI said, was due to the compromising lifestyle of many Christians.

“For much of the state of affairs, however, the FGBMFI urges that Christians to look within. If Christianity is wounded and seems weakened, we dare say the wound is partly self-inflicted,” the fellowship said.

The synods

The holding of diocesan synods are a process that would culminate in a conference at which officers of the Methodist Church, from all across the country, would adopt a national agenda for the church under the directions of the Presiding Bishop.

It is a time for spiritual renewal, for setting new objectives, adopting new strategies and determining the appropriate actions to accomplish the great commission given to Christendom by our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

The FGBMFI lauded the Methodist Church as it strategized to take the messages of the cross to other parts of the country.
