Israeli envoy donates to Bridgewater Project

The Israeli Ambassador to Ghana, Ms Sharon Bar-Li, has visited the offices of the Pamela Bridgewater Project at Mamobi in Accra to acquaint herself with operations of the organisation, which undertakes activities to promote the welfare of female porters, popularly referred to as ‘kayayie’.

She applauded the project for its campaign to give hope and social security to female potters found all over the country’s big cities and pledged her commitment to support such philanthropic activities.

Ms Bar-li, who is scheduled to visit the ‘kayayei’ centre at Kejetia in Kumasi,  and Gyando Asmah and Co, a law firm, donated some money  to support  the  Pamela Bridgewater Project Girl Child Project.

She urged individuals and corporate entities to support the vulnerable in the society.

Officials of the project led by Mrs Elizabeth Apedo and the Ms Bar-li distributed baby diapers to ‘kayayei’.

The Director of the Pamala Bridgewater Project, Mr Yahaya Alhassan, thanked Ms Bar-li for her support, and said her gesture was a demonstration of her motherly care and support for the needy.
