Nana Agyekumhene gave the assurance at a ceremony at the Amaniampong Silver Stool Palace at Asante-Mampong, where he was sworn in as Hwidiemhene by the Mamponghene, Daasebre Osei Bonsu II.

Nana Agyekumhene, 56, is an Accra-based businessman known in private life as Elder Henry Agyekumhene and popularly called Nana Kofi Little. He succeeds his elder brother, Nana  Sarfo Adu Denteh II, who died a few years ago, having ruled for 20 years.

Nana Agyekumhene observed that Hwidiem could develop at a fast pace if the people embraced peace and were united in purpose.

He said he would focus on the development of the youth, since they are the future leaders.

He added that if the youth were provided with the right training and guidance, they would grow up to become responsible adults capable of steering the town towards development.

He pledged to mobilise resources to propel the development of the youth in the town.

Nana Agyekumhene swore an oath of allegiance to the Amaniampong Stool and the Mamponghene and promised to serve the traditional area with goodwill and dedication.

Dasebre Osei Bonsu II advised the new Hwidiemhene to work closely with his sub-chiefs and the people for the rapid growth and development of the area.

He said chiefs from Hwidiem had served the traditional council well and believed that he would also do same.

Nana Agyekumhene (dressed in full regalia) was carried shoulder high in a palanquin and paraded through the principal streets of Mampong to be introduced to the people amid drumming, singing, dancing and chanting of appellations.
