Graphic/ABL organise screening for Adabraka residents

Graphic Communications Group Ltd (GCGL), in collaboration with Accra Brewery Ltd (ABL), will today organise this year’s free health care for the people of Adabraka, a suburb of Accra.

The programme will be held at the St Joseph’s School, Adabraka, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Instituted 12 years ago by Graphic as a corporate social responsibility to help with their health problems, it has been run in collaboration with ABL for the past seven years.

This year’s event will focus more on the registration of the aged, children and the poor onto the National Health Insurance Scheme.

Hepatitis B screening

In addition, residents of the community will benefit from Hepatitis B screening and vaccination, dental services and free mosquito nets for pregnant women, while children get de-wormers.Eye specialists from the Accra Diamond Lion’s Clubwill also offer free eye screening, medication and eyeglasses to patients whose condition requires them. The Graphic Clinic Medical team, led by Dr Jacqui Barnes, will care for hypertensive and diabetic patients who attend the programme. Over the years, the programme has seen improvements which have made it more beneficial to residents of Adabraka
