Gomoa East donates towards Ed-ul-Fitr

As part of this year’s Ed-ul-Fitr celebrations by Muslims, the Gomoa East District Assembly in the Central Region has presented 80 bags of rice to the Muslim community in the district.

The rice was donated to the two constituencies in the district, Gomoa East and Gomoa Central, and each constituency had 40 bags as part of the government’s support to Muslims after they had fasted for 30 days.

Doing the presentation at the forecourt of the district assembly last Friday, the Gomoa East District Chief Executive, Mr Isaac Kingsley Ahunu-Armah, noted that the gesture was the government’s appreciation to the Muslims in the country, who fasted  to communicate with Allah as well as to pray for lasting peace in the country.

He stated that  the government recognised the significance of the Ramadan to the development of the nation  so the necessary support would always be given to them as a form of encouragement.

Sheik Alhassan Osman, Chief Imam of Gomoa Takyiam, who received the items on behalf of all the Muslim groups, thanked the government and the assembly for the donation.
