Goldkey Property replaces collapsed school block at Breman Gyamera
A newly constructed two-unit kindergarten (KG) classroom block has been handed over to the people of Breman Gyamera in the Central Region.

The facility, constructed at a cost of GH¢200,000 by Goldkey Property Limited, real estate developers, replaces the Breman Gyamera Methodist School KG block which collapsed and killed six pupils early this year.
The new block, which is fully furnished, has washrooms for the pupils, a storeroom and a teachers’ office.
The company also partnered with Team CSR Ghana, a non-governmental organisation (NGO), to paint a six-unit classroom block for the primary school.
Dedication
Speaking at the handover ceremony last Monday, the Executive Director of Goldkey Property Limited, Mrs Cynthia Acquaye, dedicated the building to the memory of the schoolchildren who lost their lives in the January 31, 2017 disaster.
Six pupils of the Breman Gyamera Methodist School KG were killed and many others injured when their classroom block collapsed on them.
After the incident, Goldkey Property Limited pledged to build a new KG block for the people of Gyamera.
Mrs Acquaye said the project formed part of the company's broader plan of developing educational infrastructure aimed at contributing to effective and sustainable delivery of quality education in Ghana.
According to her, when the incident occurred, the management of the company met and decided to build a new school block for the pupils.
"We also realised that the primary section of Breman Jamera Methodist School also needed some form of renovation so we brought in our partners, Team CSR Ghana, to assist paint the six-unit classroom block," Mrs Acquaye said.
Going forward, she said, plans were underway for the company to adopt the school and provide it with the needed support for effective teaching and learning.

Gratitude
The Chief of Breman Gyamera, Nana Boadu Amankwah VIII, received the keys to the school and thanked the management of Goldkey Property. He gave an assurance that the people would put in place measures to maintain the facilities.
He, however, expressed worry over the lack of a senior high school (SHS) in the area which the chief said was denying some of the youth the opportunity to pursue higher education.
According to him, the unavailability of an SHS in the community, which has a population of about 10,000, has made many of the youth abandon their education after the completion of junior high school.
"We will, therefore, be glad if the government can get the Berman Gyamera community one SHS," Nana Amankwah VIII said.
Commitment
In a speech read on his behalf, the Minister of Education, Dr Mathew Opoku-Prempah, stressed the government's commitment to ensuring that every child received quality education.
He said apart from the implementation of the Free SHS programme, the government was putting in place measures to address challenges affecting the delivery of quality education.
The minister commended the management of Goldkey Property Limited for investing in education.
On his part, the Central Regional Minister, Mr Kwamena Duncan, emphasised the need for metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies (MMDAs) to pay attention to dilapidated structures in their respective areas and not wait till such buildings collapsed before seeking interventions.
The Founder of Team CSR Ghana, Mr Jonathan Akuamoah, also assured the people that his NGO would continue to monitor the facility to ensure its durability.
