GIHOC Distilleries unveils Castle Bridge Sapphire

The Managing Director of GIHOC Distilleries Company Limited, Ms Kay Kwaw-Simmonds, has asked local companies to protect their brands by not compromising the quality of their products.

He said one contributory factor that had made products from the company attain international recognition was the determination to maintain the quality of its products.

Ms Kwaw-Simmonds said this at the launch of the company’s new product called Castle Bridge Sapphire.

The product is the first of three products which the company intends to introduce in the next six months.

Ms Kwaw-Simmonds explained that over the past decades, measures had been put in place to enhance the quality of the company’s products.

“We have never compromised the quality of our products because it is what distinguishes us from the rest,” he added.

Raw materials

Currently, GIHOC imports about 80 per cent of raw materials, including alcohol, used in the production of its products.

Ms Kwaw-Simmonds said the company had initiated moves to reduce the high importation of its raw materials in the next few years.

“In the next two years, our import of raw material, especially alcohol, will be reduced,” she added. 

On the international market, Ms Kwaw -Simmonds said GIHOC Distilleries Company Limited had entered the West African sub-region and intended to export more.

For his part, the Quality Assurance Manager of GIHOC, Mr Abraham Neequaye, said the new product was produced with the best of raw materials.
