Galaxy International School has made history at the prestigious Owlypia International Competition in London, United Kingdom, by winning 41 medals alongside a sweeping array of individual and team awards.
Marking the school’s largest-ever participation in the global event with 52 students, representing the school, the team was led by their Principal, Jasur Domullojonov, and three teachers.
The team competed against top global peers from June 14 to 20, 2026.
The historic 52 participants squad dominated the academic platform, solidifying Ghana's reputation for nurturing world-class, innovative young leaders.
Medals
The Ghanaian delegation showcased exceptional intellect and dedication, bringing home a total of 41 medals, which are made up of 16 gold medals, 18 silver medals and seven bronze medals.
The competition saw several students rise to the absolute top of their categories globally.
Specifically, top outstanding individuals were William Kofi Owusu Opong and Maryam Ruzmetova for the first-place positions, with Neina Salsabeela Salim and Pebbles Kistina Nyame-Akyedzi Dadzie winning second-place positions in their categories.
Aseye Adelaide Mawudzro, Jayden Awedanah Tedane Ayipah-Kuti, and Isabel Tetebea Bonzoh won the third-place positions.
The top performing teams went to the school's leadership team, made up of Neina Salsabeela Salim, William Kofi Owusu Opong and Aseye Adelaide Mawudzro, winning first place.
The school's Quantum Thinkers team, made up of Iman Wun-Nam Aminu, Isabel Tetebea Bonzoh and Maryam Ruzmetova, also won the first slot. Maali Pelpuo, Nana Odi Mante Tieku and Frank Dominic Nanko of Team Patience won the second position.
The school's team Keaf, which is made up of Firmine Samira Moukom, Jayden Awedanah Kuti and Moaz Ali, also won third place.
The school’s representatives also won specialised awards for eloquence, debate prowess and cultural representation.
Proficient Public Speakers went to Pheoby Karyn Dadzie, Maali Pelpuo, and Jeana Okyere Gyamfi, while Proficient Debate Team went to Neina Salsabeela Salim, William Kofi Owusu Opong and Aseye Adelaide Mawudzro.
The Proficient Individual Knowledge Challenge went to Jayden Awedanah Ayipah-Kuti and Abena Amoah Osei Addae.
The Cultural Ambassador Award went to William Kofi Owusu Opong.

Owlypia competition
The Owlypia Global Round is the prestigious final international stage of the Owlypia International Intellectual Challenge, bringing together top-performing students from around the world to compete, build soft skills and experience cultural exchange.
The competition tests students across five diverse, interdisciplinary knowledge categories, including Science and Technology, Literature and Culture, Social Sciences, Art and Design, and Economics and Business.
The global round was hosted at the University of Westminster in the heart of London.
