Five arrested for residential robbery

 The Sefwi Wiawso Police district has arrested five persons for allegedly involved in residential robbery at Adu Kwesikrom in the Wiawso District of the Western Region.

The suspects were said to have terrorised members of the Adu-Kwesikrom and its environs before they were arrested.

The five suspects were identified after their arrest as Ali Raymond ,24; Kwabena Gyan, 19; Amadu Issah, 25; Kwabena Ackah, 28;  Daniel Sampa, 28 and Kwame Gribah, 28.

Speaking to the media, the Regional Police Public Relations Officers ASP Olivia Ewurabena Adiku said preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects mostly robbed at about 2.00am.

She said last Tuesday, the five went to the cottage of one Ernest Boateng, a cocoa-purchasing clerk of FEDCO and SIKAPA COCOA - produce buying companies.

The five she said succeeded in attacking the purchasing clerk and his wife at gunpoint and robbed them of GH₵ 12,800.00.

 The regional police public relation officer said after robbing them, the five fired shots in a bid to instil fear in those who could be considering coming to the aid of the clerk and his wife.

ASP Adiku said the police intelligence later led to their arrest, with one of them kwabena Nyamkye Azuma, managing to escape.

They were put before the Bibiani Circuit Court and been remanded into police custody to reappear on December 18.
