FAWA supports Children’s Hospital

The Former Ambassadors’ Wives Association (FAWA) has presented items worth GH¢9,000 to the Princess Marie Louise Children’s Hospital (PML) in Accra in support of its services.

The items included food items, assorted drinks, detergents, toiletries and 50 plastic chairs.

The chairs were part of items the association promised the hospital last year when its members made a similar donation to the facility.

Relationship

At the presentation ceremony, the Vice-President of FAWA, Mrs Beatrice Abbey, said the association’s relationship with the hospital began 21 years ago.

It had supplied medical equipment, food items, detergents and other items every year to the hospital.

She said the gesture was also to encourage other benevolent organisations and individuals to extend similar support to the children’s hospital.

Commendation

The Paediatric Specialist at PML, Dr Isaac Abban, thanked FAWA for its support and said such gestures had been very beneficial to the hospital as they helped to reduce the cost of administration, especially with regard to feeding the patients.

He was full of praise for FAWA and said its continuous assistance was very commendable, adding that the association had proved to be a reliable social partner over the years.

Dr Abban encouraged other charitable institutions and individuals to also contribute to the operations of the hospital to enhance health of children.
