Eurostar Global Limousines CEO invited by police over defunct UniBank debt and threats to receiver
The Chief Executive Officer of Eurostar Global Limousines, a luxury car rental company, Mr Oscar Yao Doe has been invited by the police to assist with investigations regarding threats to the life of Nii Amanor Dodoo, the receiver in the case of five banks that were collapsed last year by the Bank of Ghana (BoG).
The police invitation letter dated August 23, 2019 [copy provided below] addressed to Mr. Oscar Yao Doe and signed by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP), Mr Edward Tabiri, Head of the Special Investigations Team (SIT) states that, Mr Doe has defaulted in settling his indebtedness to the defunct Unibank and a subsequent reminder sent to him by Nii Amanor Dodoo was met with threats to the life of the receiver.

According to the police letter, Mr Yao Doe is indebted to the tune of GHc101,960.44.
He has therefore been asked to report to the Ghana Police’s Special Investigations Team commissioned by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to look into the collapse of the nine indigenous banks.
"The records in the books of the defunct Unibank shows that you owe the Bank to the sum of Ghc101,960.14. Nii Amanor Dodoo acting in his capacity as the Receiver wrote to you to demand that you settle the outstanding balances. You responded by issuing series of threats to his life in an email correspondence from 2nd August, 2019 to 15th August, 2019," the letter said.
"You are accordingly requested to report to the undersigned on Wednesday 28th August, 2019 at 2:00pm to assist investigations," it added.
