Electoral Commission fire under control: Only faulty airconditioner got burnt

There was a huge media presence following earlier reports by some media houses that the EC building was on fire.

The Public Relations Officer of the EC, Sylvia Annor, told the media that the situation had been put under control.

“The fire outbreak was due to a faulty airconditioner. We have it under control and we were able to put it out before the arrival of the fire service,” she said.

The Accra Metro Station Officer of the GNFS, Solomon Lartey, said they had a call from the Control Room of a fire at the EC “but before we came it had been put off”.
