“Ghanaians respect the rule of law. Nothing will happen but they will maintain their profile. Just go and sleep, nothing will happen,” the Nigerian pastor told his congregation, the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), during a church service yesterday which was telecast live.

As Ghanaians wait anxiously for the Supreme Court to deliver its ruling on the landmark 2012 presidential election petition on Thursday, there have been a series of peace campaigns to prevent violence.

But Prophet Joshua said, “They will not fail. If the law says this, yes! If the law says that, yes!  It is a country where they respect their laws….That has been their hallmark.

He observed that Ghana was an icon of Africa and would maintain its credentials as an icon of democracy on the continent.

He, however, led the congregation to pray for some troubled countries on the continent, including Zimbabwe.

“Whatever happens in those countries happens to Nigeria….Let us pray for the nations…They are still crawling when it comes to democracy…so what is happening is normal…God will intervene, with our prayer,” he said.

The prophet is revered and at the same time criticised across the continent for his prophecies.

Among his recent chain of prophecies were the Boston Marathon explosion on April 18, 2013; the diversion of a Pakistan International Airlines Flight PK709 from northwestern England's Manchester Airport to Stansted Airport, near London, and the United Kingdom 2011 riot.

He has also been criticised for fake prophecies, many of which he has denied. For instance, he denied prophesying that the Zimbabwean opposition leader would win the 2013 presidential election.
